Why Did I Create This System?
As a web designer, when I told people I was creating this system they looked a little shocked and asked why I would be creating a system which could potentially have me out of a job! And I guess you are asking why also?
All the websites I build for clients are built on a content management system such as WordPress (the system we use in this course), so as part of the package I show them how to view the backend of their website and make changes if they want. However, I was finding that none of my clients had any confidence to go in and make the changes and were always wanting for me to do this. Why? because they thought they could break or ruin something. And this wasn’t the case at all.
What did I do? I involved my clients more in the building process of their website, they learned more about how it worked, where things went and that really they couldn’t break it! They now had more confidence in their abilities, more confidence in making changes. Then I thought if they build the whole website themselves imagine how much confidence they would have!
With a little bit of training and knowledge they actually got excited about making changes on their website and updating it frequently.
